Hi, Iām Christina.
My journey into the practice of Yoga began at an early age; I would follow along with my mother, as we watched her Ali MacGraw-Yoga Mind&Body VHS tape in the master bedroom of my childhood home. As a hyperactive 6-year-old, I was immediately taken by this new discovery of moving my body in ways I had never imagined. I continued on sporadically through my Elementary school years. I always asked for yoga books and tapes from my parents for Christmas.
Yoga did not find me again until my mid-twenties; My physical body craved movement and my mind, peace. This rediscovery came at a very challenging time of my life, where insecurities and addiction were very present. Yoga guided me throughout many tough times in my twenties and, quite literally, saved my life.
At the age of 33, I embarked on my most intense yoga journey I had had up until that point: I completed a full 200-RYT Yoga Certification. I had become a real-life Yoga teacher! The training was very intense and challenged me on the physical, mental, and spiritual level. My training was a remedy for many of the negative labels I placed on myself: addict, crazy, unworthy, ugly, stupid. The list goes on. Becoming a Yoga instructor not only helped me get into the best physical shape of my life and has supported my sobriety, it also released the burden of self-doubt and unworthiness; Yoga had given my life purpose and a way to express my truest and most authentic self.
And now I bring this gift to you.
